Reaching the goal

If for some reason you're still subscribed to this blog - you're my hero and I appreciate you.
I've started this blog when I was 16, on Aug.28 and it's so funny to read my first records.
The reason for this blog to exist was to document my journey to profesional photography world. Back than I had no idea how this was going to happen, which step I would take next, would I ever reach it or would I change my mind in a year or two - I just kept doing what I was passionate about.
However this blog did its job well and, in some way, helped me to get where I am now.
"Where are you, Ira?", you would ask.
I'm 21 now. I've moved from my hometown to Kyiv. I've been to five countries and I had four jobs I'm very proud of. Getty Images signed me as a contributor. I had a lot of ups and downs, creative blocks and inspiring projects. I have my personal website now (my blog moved there, too).
And in month I'm about to move to Austria and study photography at my dream school.
Have I reached it? No, I'm just about to make my first baby steps. And these five years were shaping me as a person and preparing me to take this baby step.
Our life is a journey, not a destination, so make your journey beautiful.
I'll always be in process of reaching the goals and setting new ones, and I'll try my best to benefit the world around me on my way.
Currently my goal is to raise money for me to be able to move. I will be very grateful, if you can support me financially, vote for the campaign and share it.

Interview with Croatian photographer Ines Percović

I'm sure that you've seen some photos of Ines Percovic, lifestyle and still life photographer from Croatia, also an active Flickr member, even without realizing it. Many 'inspiration' blogs, tumblers and pinterests are boasting with her pictures, either on their own or with some sweet quotes on them.

I got to see many princesses!

We really do get used to things we love. Sometimes, not as often as I wished it to, it strikes me hard with understanding of how much I actually love and enjoy photography. It brought me to so many places, made me meet and speak to so many people and helped, in a way, to sneak behind the scenes of life .
And after shooting these little princesses of local ballet school - I wouldn't mind being a ballet photographer at all.
And sorry for not posting often, I'm doing something really exciting for me and hopefully for you too. If you'd like to see my presence daily - go to my Flickr.

Get my pictures for free! or buy them

Not everyone may know, but I've been selling my photographs since I was 14 on Shutterstock.
And my dad is the one who forced  encouraged  me to do that. I was so overwhelmed when I got my first $0.25 ^_^ Now it has mostly my old boring images. I actually started sharing  the gallery with my brother, who enjoys taking pictures of flowers a lot (no shame!). His pictures are sold better than mine, just to let you know.
But this is not what I was about to tell you. As some of you may know, I've been on Flickr since 2010 and many of my pictures have Creative Commons license, which basically means you can download them and use for any but commercial purposes for free with my attribution. However, they were never organized in one place so it wasn't obvious to some people that they can take them if they wish so UNTIL NOW!

What if you're unemployed // Коли ви безробітні

I've been meaning to write this blog post for many many weeks, and finally this day has come.
Many of my friends were or currently are unemployed. Moreover, all of us at some point are unemployed. And it's OK! When I was looking for a job and got no responses I felt so miserable, so unhappy and overall lost, it would make a huge difference for me to be told that it's OK. This period in your life won't last forever.

Girl with the black eyes

Happy birthday, dear Theresa! You have such a beautiful soul, and stunning eyes.
It was a great pleasure for me  to travel to Schwerin on a weekend last time I was in Germany.
Photographing Theresa was a little dream of mine and I'm very happy that it came true.
